There you go! I am in the process of publishing my first fiction book, a journey I started back in 2009. These days, in between long tedious sessions of grammar and spelling self corrections, I have been working on the cover for the book.
I am afraid the book is in Spanish -for now-, so for those who don’t speak my language, the book is titled “NEW ERA, the Chronicles of The Revealer”. And on the top right corner…”In a world devastated by the solar storms in 2012, the destiny of Mankind is in the hands of just one person”.
That’s all I will share with you for now. More info coming soon here and at my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TheCreativePost
Thanks for reading
OK. This is not a recent campaign but I was walking past a Kitchen and Bathroom Design studio and they had the ad displayed on their glass window on quiet a big poster size. I couldn’t help tracing back my steps to look at it again. So I admit it, the ad does the job, it gets people’s attention…but maybe for the wrong reasons?

Who wouldn’t be shocked after looking at an ad containing a heart-shaped butt? Definitely unusual, original… but wrong wrong wrong. One of the things this ad doesn’t do is telling you what the product is, and considering the Geberit AquaClean Toilet is “the first wall hung WC with integrated shower function, and therefore a quiet a revolutionary product, it is a shame that after the unavoidable visual impact we simply had no clue about what is being sold. Secondly, and I haven’t done any research on this, but I suspect that, for obvious reasons, they have probably had some difficulties to place this ad on many publications and mostly anywhere outdoors?
So you see I am not always in front of the screen with a mouse and a keyboard to “create” something, I would like to share with you my ongoing project: a scarf for my daughter. It’s been years, probably a decade since I do any knitting and it took me a bit to remember again, but it is as relaxing and addictive as I remember it to be!
How long since you did any crafty work! Come on! There is so much you can do with so little investment. Show us!

The Spanish capital – Madrid – released yesterday, 30th January, the logo that will represent the city as a candidate for the Olympic Games in 2020. Just few hours after the release, Twitter and other social networks were full of messages of criticism with a sense of humour. The logo, creation of a 22 year old Graphic Design student, is described by the author as “a log that represents the monument from Madrid La Puerta de Alcala (Alcala’s Entrance) with a dynamic line symbolising the passion of the people from Madrid and Spain towards Sports. The five “doors” from the original monument become the 5 rings”.
For many, however, the logo looks like 5 coloured flip-flops behind what looks like 20020 instead of M20. Aside this, the “i” in “madrid” looks like if it had an accent when it shouldn’t and the black colour from the original 5 ring olympic logo has been replaced for pink, to which some have been joking could be more like the “logo for Proud Day in 20020″.
6.000 euros has been the cost of this logo, far from the £400.000 that the London 2012 cost, but as wrong as bad as this one. No wonder us, Graphic Designer, still cannot get taken seriously as professionals, as many think that what we do is just random drawing and scribbling as inspiration comes to us.
And I have nothing with the student that created the logo, at the end of the day he is still studying. Also, the logo was altered from the original proposal by the student, where the M20 looked clearer (see below). But whoever chose it and paid for it…
As every January, I start the new year with some home de-cluttering. This time I came across my old pencil drawings from when I was a teenager. Sadly I haven’t used a pencil since I started doing digital illustration, back in 2005. One of the pics got my attention, the one you see below; my version of James Dean done back in 1995. As I look at it, feeling proud of it, I wonder if I would be able to hand draw something like this again. Maybe one of my 2012 resolutions?
Dear all,
Hope you are having a great Christmas holiday and wish you the best for the New Year. It will be exciting to see what 2012 will bring and if the Mayas were right in saying that this will be the end of our era and the beginning of a new one. I personally think this would be positive, having a new fresh start after the recent economical crisis and worldwide conflicts. We need a change. All the best from The Creative Post.
-Laura.
This one I wrote a long time ago, but it’s good from time to time to remind ourselves that we are just a small tiny little thing in the universe, one of many, and we should help each other and feel and care for each other. Happy Chrismas season!
What´s the essence of human being
you´ll find inside each heart
that lets you in
There´s some goodness in all of us
Sometimes hidden
Sometimes shown
Love makes it grow
Hate makes it blind
Search for it within your soul
Let it out
Don´t be afraid
I will help you
If you find it hard
There´s some goodness in all of us
Let´s show it!
Let´s show it!
We are human

These times are hard. With many people losing their jobs, there is this feeling of uncertainty when it comes to the professional future and career of many. So people get cautious, they try to save money, or they reconsider expenses; they look for better deals, for cheaper places. But Christmas…it’s Chrismas. There can’t be Christmas without presents, isn’t it? Don’t you dare to arrive at your parent’s on Christmas Eve without a pile of clumsy wrapped presents with their names written. No need to mention with your in-law’s! But when the budget seems to be limited, what to do?
We are often to trapped in the hands of capitalism and unproportionate consumerism that we have forgotten that we have a pair of hands!!! ‘What, how come?? I thought we only needed our thumb to get things done through our PC mouse, our blackberry, or iPad, iPhone, iTouch, i…’ Let’s go back to the old days, to the school days…Remember, on Mother’s day, when you handcrafted a Happy Mother’s day card with a piece of cardboard, some lentils and some foil? And you came back home all happy and proud to see your Mom’s face when she saw your artwork. Well, there you go!! Stop complaining about not having enough money for Chrismas presents this year and make your own!!! I am sure your relatives and friends will be more excited to receive something made by you rather than another CD, scarf and gloves (do they really need another pair?) or yet another one of those expensive mugs with a silly message. Make your own!!! A photo album, a frame, a drawing, a song!, a dvd with a compilation of home videos edited by you, use your imagination!!!! I am sure that they will remember this year’s present as much as they forgot last year’s!!!
Every year, I used to make a handmade notebook made of leather covers and paper for my Dad. He loved them. I now often see those in markets and shops for around £15. How much money I saved back then with a bit of time and effort!
Get those hands dirty with some handcraft work!!! For some inspiration, I leave you with this Chrismassy artwork displayed in Wools and Crafts, a local crafts shop in North London:
